We would like to announce that for only the 4th time in 123 years Meadows Mills is currently changing ownership. We are right here processing existing orders with no immediate change. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are pausing new orders for manufactured equipment and parts as we complete our current orders and complete our change in ownership. We are happy to continue processing purchased parts such as bearings, sprockets, and belts during this transition and our sales counter remains open to our local customers during this time from 8:00am until 5:00pm daily. We will begin accepting and processing orders for new manufactured equipment and parts as soon as possible. We do not expect the changeover to take more than 3 to 4 weeks. We will be processing existing orders at this location through 4/30/2026.

If you call our office you will be greeted with this same message and instructions for calling for technical assistance or to inquired about existing orders. Orders for stone burr mills, hammer mills, sifting equipment, and fans will resume within the next two weeks and instructions for those orders will be forthcoming. Sawmill, lumber handling and saw sharpening orders will resume after that.

Ornamental Mill Stones

Meadows Mills, Inc is proud to offer solid granite ornamental millstones. Our standard ornamental millstones are quarried from a vein of gray granite located in Mount Airy, NC.

Specifications

  • Available in all standard operating size millstones, custom sizes avaiable also
  • 8" and 12" stones are 2" to 3" thick
  • Stones 16" and larger are all 6" thick
  • Stones come either pinwheel or stand furrow pattern
  • Stones come standard colored gray

Build Your Own

There are a few other colors of stones available as well. We do occasionally have for sale pink granite millstones which have been removed from a stone burr grist mills during the course of mill restorations. Prices will vary on these once functional, but now cracked, pink granite millstones. Prices are based on the condition and size of these millstones. Also, custom furrow patterns may be cut into the face of any ornamental granite millstone if a photo or drawing of the furrow pattern is provided.
